Windborne

Off-road rollerblades. A power kite. A dirt jump in the middle of nowhere. Nobody has named the sport yet.

The premise

Take kitesurfing. Remove the ocean.

Strap a traction kite to your harness. Put big knobby wheels under your boots. Find a dry lakebed, a dune, or a hand-cut dirt ramp, and let the wind do the rest.

Windborne follows a handful of riders across the American desert as they chase wind windows, build their own jumps, and try to figure out how high a person on skates can go when the sky is pulling.

Where the wind goes, the riders follow.

The desert doesn't care how you get across it. It only cares that you showed up.
